On April 1, 2011, Huu-ay-aht First Nations (HFN) became self-governing. To separate business from politics, the nation implemented a corporate structure that included the creation of a number of arms-length limited partnerships. These limited partnerships are collectively referred to as the HFN Group of Businesses.

Our Guiding Principles

Founded on and governed by
Huu-ay-aht law, we operate on the basis of and are guided by three Guiding Principles.

Our Board

The board of directors is comprised of five individuals, three of whom are Huu-ay-aht citizens. Based on their varied backgrounds and life experience, each director offers a unique perspective and contribution to the board.

Our Office Staff

The Huu-ay-aht Group of Businesses has a core group of dedicated staff based out of both its Port Alberni and Anacla offices. Although the staff in the offices are often the faces you see on a regular basis, it takes dozens of other employees to successfully operate the businesses.
